Lego Animation
I really enjoyed the lego assignment because it was nice to play with lego. The assignment was much appreciated by me because I got hands on practice with stop motion while learning some key tips about stop motion.
I liked a lot of things with this assignment. The camera positions did not move that much. I liked the story because it was a police chase and it was a lot of fun working on it. We did a good job of making sure that we did not appear in the movie. I think the lighting went as well as we could make it and that it did not move that much.
There were things that were difficult to work on. One thing is the smoothness of the video. It was hard work making the transitions between each of the frames nicer. It was very annoying to move the toys very slightly because sometimes we would move the toys too much and then we would have to try to fix the positions of the toys. Sometimes the camera angle moved slightly when we did not want it to and it was a pain in the neck getting the angle correct again.
If I was to work on this project again, there are many things I would do differently. I would put a background to improve the sense of a setting. I would increase the amount of movement next time to make a more complex scene that is interesting to watch. I would add in some effects to make the scenes pop out more and look more interesting. I would also use more camera angles, such as bird's-eye view and down below shooting up.
I would give myself a B or a low A because there was a lot of effort that went into making this film. I believe it to be a good quality film with my first attempt. The video is smooth to make it look realistic (though it could be smoother). The best part of the video is when the criminal picks up his buddy. I believe that part to be professional quality stop motion even though I might be over exaggerating.
